Engineered
Surfaces

Engineered surfaces are manufactured materials that combine natural minerals, resins and pigments to produce consistent, high-performance slabs. They offer predictable aesthetics, enhanced durability, and specific technical properties that natural stone cannot always provide.

Surface Types
Engineered Quartz

Quartz Composite

Manufactured from approximately 90% crushed quartz bound with polymer resins. Offers a consistent pattern with no natural variation. Non-porous, highly scratch-resistant and available in a wide range of colours and finishes.

Non-porous
Sintered Stone

Porcelain Slab

Large-format sintered surfaces produced at extreme temperature and pressure. Ultra-thin, lightweight and available in very large formats. Can replicate the appearance of marble, concrete and wood with high UV stability for outdoor use.

Outdoor Suitable
Compact Surface

Ultra-Compact

A next-generation sintered surface produced under even higher pressure than standard porcelain. Exceptionally thin profiles (3–6mm) with superior hardness, heat resistance and chemical resistance. Suitable for cladding, facades and technical surfaces.

When to choose
engineered surfaces

Engineered surfaces are the correct specification choice when consistency, technical performance or outdoor durability is the priority.

In hospitality, commercial and high-traffic residential applications, the non-porous nature and predictable maintenance requirements of quartz and porcelain often make them more practical than natural stone.

We supply and install both natural stone and engineered surfaces. Our role is to advise on the right material for your specific application — not to favour one over the other.

Installation &
technical considerations

Large-format porcelain and ultra-compact surfaces require specialist installation. The material is brittle during handling and demands precise substrate preparation and specific adhesives.

We have extensive experience with large-format installation, including book-matched panels, seamless wall-to-floor transitions and outdoor cladding systems.

Substrate assessment is conducted prior to every installation. We will not install over a substrate that is not suitable for the material.
